#075 Switzerland...Thanks Sara!

The se-tenant stamps on this nice cover were issued on Jan.06,2010 to celebrate the 100 years of Basel Carnival Committee and the biggest carnival in Switzerland.

The Carnival of Basel (German: Basler Fasnacht) takes place annually between February and March in Basel. It has recently been listed as one of the top fifty local festivities in Europe. In this year Basel Carnival starts on 22 February with the Morgenstreich procession.

Unlike the Carnival celebrations held in other cities on the Rhine (such as those in Cologne, Mainz and Düsseldorf), the Basel Carnival displays a clear separation between participants and spectators.

The 3 stamps bear the enigmatic titles "Spalentor", "Rathaus" and "Munster".
